Thanks for this. I was just saying yesterday that I am so tired of people saying "the bible says so and so". I can read what the bible says - the trouble I run into is knowing what the bible means, and not just what it means but what it means for us, in this time and this place. In addition to that I am tired of people who act like there opinion/beliefs are validated by pulling out several scriptures to support it ignoring the scriptures that seemingly contradict their position.
